Test Research, Inc. Phases Out TR7100 Production

Taipei, Taiwan (May 18, 2011) – Test Research, Inc. (TRI, TAIEX #3030) phased out production of the company’s TR7100 Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) system on January 1, 2011. As the first AOI system launched by TRI in 2002, the TR7100 served as the foundation for the company’s successful integration of AOI systems into its product lineup and the accelerated development of a range of increasingly powerful and more technologically capable systems in the years since.

As the first AOI system released by TRI over 8 years ago, advances in technology, increased capabilities and more stringent customer requirements have led to the TR7100’s phase out in favor of TRI’s subsequent-generation systems. For these reasons, TRI will no longer provide new software updates for the TR7100, although current software support will still be available to existing customers. TRI will also continue to offer service, maintenance, and technical support for TR7100 customers for 3 additional years.

TRI encourages existing and future customers to inquire about the company’s current range of technologically superior AIO systems, including the TR7500, TR7500E, TR7550, TR7530, TR7500DT, and TR7530DT. TRI would like to thank the large number of manufacturing partners that have utilized the TR7100 since it was first released. Based on the outstanding response from these customers, TRI will continue to aggressively move forward with incorporating the latest technologies into its automated inspection and testing products to help customers realize even greater efficiencies through innovation.
