TRI to Introduce New AOI System at SMTA International 2012
 
[Sept 17, 2012—San Jose, California] Test Research, Inc. (TRI) has announced its participation at the upcoming SMTA International Electronics Exhibition 2012. Held this year in Orlando, Florida at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort October 16-17, the exhibition serves as one of several key industry events in North America for TRI to interact with SMT manufacturers and industry partners.

At the exhibition’s centrally located booth 319, TRI will exhibit award-winning PCBA test and inspection solutions, including the company’s TR5001T Tiny and TR5001 Inline in-circuit test platforms; the new TR7007 SII solder paste inspection unit; the TR7550 and TR7700 SII automated optical inspection systems & an offline workstation for TRI’s 7600 Series AXI.

Noting the unique customer requirements in the North American SMT manufacturing market compared to other regions, Vice President of Sales & Marketing Jim Lin indicated that one of the goals for this year’s show was to demonstrate the flexibility of TRI’s one-stop solution in offering the North American market the same performance, service, and value that have driven TRI’s growth around the world over the past 23 years.

The TR7700 SII AOI

First released earlier this year in Asia, the new TR7007 SII automated optical  inspection system will make its North American debut during the show. This slimmer, faster, and more economical AOI features a large 4MP color camera and is capable of providing inspection speeds of up to 120cm²/sec at 15µm. The system also features a highly flexible RGB+W LED lighting system. Like all TRI optical inspection systems, this new unit features true, on-the-fly inspection with TRI’s Dynamic Imaging, making it equally suitable for inspection at both pre- and post-reflow positions. And, at little over 39” wide, the TR7700 SII delivers a reduced footprint critical to manufacturers with limited floor space.
