300+ AOI, SPI Systems Sold in Q1 2010

2010/04/13

Taipei, Taiwan (April 2, 2010) – Test Research Inc. (TRI, TAIEX 3030), announced today that it had sold more than 300 Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) test systems combined in the first three months of 2010. Also sold were over 250 board testers and 15 Automated X-ray Inspection (AXI) systems – more AXI systems than sold in all of 2009. These numbers are the best 3-month results in TRI's history.

The AOI systems included the in-line TR7500 and TR7550 series, and the TR7500DT and TR7530DT desktop models. SPI systems moved during the quarter were the TR7006, TR7007 and the TR7066.

Board test models included the all-analog TR518 series Manufacturing Defects Analyzer (MDA), the cost-effective TR5001 series of in-circuit testers, and the full-featured TR8100LV analog/digital function tester.

TRI's TR7600 AXI system was first announced in 2008.

"TRI is very pleased to announce these numbers," said Jim Lin, TRI Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. "Besides proving that we are the global leader in SMT manufacturing test solutions, it also shows that our strategy during the recent tough economic times was the right one. Throughout the last 15 months we continued to invest in R&D and we kept in close contact with our customers. This prepared us to be able to deliver the right products at the right time as soon as business picked up.

"Because we are the only vendor offering end-to-end test solutions for SMT manufacturing – from solder paste inspection through function test – our customers trust our expertise and know each of our products adds value to their manufacturing process," added Lin.
