Test Research Inc. to Debut New SPI at Productronica 2009
AXI, AOI and In-Circuit Test Systems Will Also Be Shown
Taipei, Taiwan & Konstanz, Germany (October 9, 2009) – Test Research Inc. (TRI, TAIEX 3030) announced today that it would introduce the new TR7007 Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) system at Productronica 2009 from November 10-13 in Munich, Germany. TRI will also display a range of its test systems – AXI, AOI, and in-circuit testers -- for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) at TRI's Productronica booth located at New Munich Trade Fair Centre, Booth A1-454.
The TR7007 will join the TR7066 representing TRI's 64-bit, ultra-high-speed 3D SPI technology. Each system uses a linear motor and linear scale to create a more precise and stable X-Y motion system and both are ready for fine-pitch 01005 components. The TR7007 uses a unique lighting system for shadow-free inspection. An optional high-resolution 2D color camera is also available for both models.
TRI's AXI (Automated X-ray Inspection) technology is showcased by the TR7600. The TR7600 provides in-line inspection for high-density components such as Flip Chips and BGAs, and micro-components down to 0201 and 01005. The system uses X-ray penetration to capture images using nine CCDs at different angles. Software developed in-house by TRI analyzes the slice images and calculates the different slice heights to inspect for PCB defects.
Also featured at TRI's booth are two AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) systems, TR7550 and TR7500DT. The TR7550 is an in-line system that uses a linear motor for more accurate imaging. It combines a top-view digital 3CCD full-color camera plus 4 angle cameras to provide the most complete AOI coverage in its class. The TR7500DT is a compact, high-speed desktop system for offline problem detection and analysis.

Rounding out TRI's "one-stop solution" approach to PCBA test products is the TR5001 board tester. The TR5001 is a compact, full-featured in-circuit tester. It supports 3,200 analog or 1,600 hybrid digital/analog test pins. Options are available for on-board programming, TestJet and Boundary-Scan.
