The TR9000 is an AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) system for high-volume manufacturers of mainstream PCBs. Designed entirely in-house, the TR9000 implements TRI's existing AOI expertise to inspect PCBs down to 35um (microns). Red and blue LEDs are used as a light source to ensure high defect detection rates with low false calls. Panels up to 675mm x 730mm (27in x 29in) can be accommodated by the system.

Developed In House
The TR9000 was designed from the ground up in house by TRI’s R&D team, leveraging our many years of AOI expertise. Each subsystem – lighting, camera, X-Y table – has been proven during months of rigorous testing. Involvement of TRI’s customer service engineers in every stage of development insures that the system will require minimal maintenance and servicing over its lifetime.
Detect Defects by Type
Users can set the parameters for different types of defects, such as the size and locations of nicks, protrusions and pinholes. The figure below shows pinholes found on ground plane (left) and pinholes on pads (right).
